The Holy Quran clearly states that engaging in physical intimacy before marriage is not permitted. While the act of sex is considered Haram, having genuine feelings for someone is not. If a relationship is kept platonic prior to marriage and is only consummated afterwards, it can be considered halal, as there would be no physical involvement until that sacred bond is formed.
