Limitations of TEM Imaging

One key drawback of Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM) is that the images produced are monochromatic. This occurs because the detectors in a TEM are designed to sense electrons rather than light, as in conventional microscopes. Consequently, the resulting signal is binary, leading to images that are displayed in shades of grey.
