A person is permitted to recite the Quran in any position, whether standing, sitting, or lying down. This holds true regardless of whether they are in a state of wudu or experiencing minor impurity. For supporting evidence, Al-Bukhari (7549) and Muslim (301) report that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) would lie down while reciting.
