Approximately 50 natural earthquakes are recorded annually in Finland. Recently, there has been an uptick in occurrences, especially with the rise of earthquake swarms located in southeastern parts of the country. The Institute of Seismology at the University of Helsinki operates over 30 seismic stations, both permanent and temporary, across Finland.
