Shoji doors are crafted using a joint construction method that incorporates twin mortise and tenon joints at each corner, enhancing the stability of their lightweight frame. Each of these twin tenons includes a haunch and a jaguchi joint, where the jaguchi joint is a mitered shoulder designed to accommodate the chamfered inner edge of the stile.
