How does Jesus fit into Islam?

In Islam, Jesus, referred to as Isa in Arabic, is not regarded as divine, nor do Muslims worship him. Instead, he is viewed as a prophet or messenger of God. The Quran also designates him as the Messiah. However, when Muslims acknowledge Jesus as the Messiah, they emphasize his role in delivering a messianic message rather than his identity as a celestial Christ.
