Is 13 a bad number in Islam?

The notion that 13 is an unlucky number is incorrect; numbers themselves do not possess any power over luck or misfortune. Associating misfortune with the numbers 13, 14, or any other digits, as well as days, months, or colors, falls under the category of tatayyur, which refers to the superstitious belief in omens from birds or other signs. Such beliefs are prohibited in Islam.
