Is fear a sin?

Understanding Fear in Terms of Sin

Generally, our perception of fear is that it constitutes a form of sin, albeit not among the gravest of sins. It can be seen as a sort of partial sin that might warrant only a moderate level of guilt, or even none at all. Unlike anger, fear does not equate to a severity that would call for church discipline. Nevertheless, it is still categorized as a sin.
