Self-Perception of Happiness in Germany

Approximately 60% of individuals living in Germany consider themselves to be happy. However, their perception of happiness among others is markedly lower, with only 25% believing that the general population in Germany is happy. This perception has significantly declined since 2019, when 46% of those surveyed thought that Germans were overall happy.
