Praying silently is perfectly acceptable. In fact, there are times when it's necessary to engage in prayer without drawing attention from those around you. It serves as a private dialogue between you and God. However, in certain situations, especially during group gatherings, it may be more appropriate to pray aloud so that everyone can join in the prayer experience together.
