Lies are fundamentally unethical for two primary reasons. Firstly, when I lie, I undermine the essential aspect of my humanity: the ability to make independent, logical decisions. Each falsehood I express contradicts the intrinsic qualities that provide me with moral value. Secondly, the lies I tell diminish the freedom of others to make informed choices.
