Understanding the Gender of the Holy Spirit

Catholic teaching, along with affirmations from Protestant beliefs, holds that God transcends gender categorization. When it comes to the Holy Spirit, it’s interesting to note that in Hebrew, the language employs feminine terms, whereas Greek presents it in a neuter form, and Latin refers to it in masculine terms. Therefore, it is acceptable to use any gender pronoun for the Holy Spirit that one might apply to describe God.
