What are the effects of caries?
Approved answer
Effects of Dental Caries
Dental caries occurs gradually, leading to the deterioration of tooth structure, specifically enamel and dentine. This is a result of acids produced during the bacterial breakdown of sugars. In the initial phases, dental caries may remain asymptomatic; however, as the condition progresses, it can result in pain, infections, abscesses, and in severe cases, sepsis.
