Hydronephrosis refers to a condition in which one or both kidneys are stretched and enlarged due to an accumulation of urine within them. This condition can affect individuals of all ages and may even be detected in unborn babies during standard pregnancy ultrasound examinations. This detection is referred to as antenatal hydronephrosis.
