The throat consists of several components: the esophagus, trachea, larynx, tonsils, and epiglottis. When we talk about throat cancer, we refer to malignancies that arise in either the throat (pharynx) or the voice box (larynx). It is important to note that your throat is a muscular tube that begins at the back of your nose and extends down into your neck.
