What is stage 1 kidney failure?
Understanding Stage 1 Kidney Failure
In Stage 1 Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD), renal damage is considered mild. While your kidneys still function effectively, there may be indications of kidney injury or some physical harm to the renal structures. This stage is characterized by a normal estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) of 90 or above, but the presence of protein in your urine (i.e., urine analysis reveals proteinuria).
