The Tabuk Expedition
The Tabuk Expedition, which is also referred to as the Expedition of Usra, was a military campaign that was launched by the Islamic prophet Muhammad in October of 630 CE (AH 9). He commanded an army that numbered up to 30,000 individuals, who marched northward towards Tabuk, located near the Gulf of Aqaba in what is now the northwestern region of Saudi Arabia. The area is noted on various Muslim conquest maps, including Tabuk.
