The Turkish peninsula is surrounded by four different seas: to the south lies the Mediterranean, the Aegean Sea is found to the west, the Sea of Marmara separates the European and Asian parts, and to the north, you will find the Black Sea. The total length of Turkey's coastline exceeds 8,000 kilometers (about 5,000 miles).
