The earliest recorded individual with the name Mansur was Mansur ibn Sarjun, who served as the Byzantine governor of Damascus during the late 6th and early 7th centuries. He notably capitulated the city to Muslim forces in the year 635. Additionally, several prominent figures named Mansur emerged during the Islamic Golden Age, including Al-Mansur, the second caliph of the Abbasid dynasty and the architect of Baghdad.
