Who is Obligated to Pay Zakat al-Fitr?

It is mandatory for any Muslim who possesses surplus food beyond their immediate needs to contribute to Zakat al-Fitr (also known as Fitrana). Unlike regular Zakat, this obligation extends to every member of your household. As such, the head of the household, including parents and guardians, has the responsibility to pay on behalf of other family members.
