Approved answer
Reasons for the Fall of Carthage
By the late 7th century BC, Carthage had established itself as a major hub of trade in the western Mediterranean. However, following a prolonged struggle with the rising power of the Roman Republic, known as the Punic Wars (264–146 BC), Carthage ultimately met its demise when Rome completely obliterated the city in 146 BC.
