Initially, the nomadic Turkic tribes did not practice Islam, but their conversion occurred after being subjugated by the formidable Muslim Empire, which originated from present-day Iran. As these Turks gained prominence within the Muslim military ranks, they established their own influence and eventually founded the Seljuk Empire.
