Why do you read Arabic right to left?
Approved answer
Origins of Arabic Writing Direction
The earliest form of old Arabic, known as the Safaitic dialect, was spoken by the nomadic tribes of the Syro-Arabian desert. This early version of Arabic was primarily inscribed from right to left, which has since shaped the direction in which the Arabic script is written. Following the Safaitic dialect, Classical Arabic emerged along with other ancient forms of Arabic.
