Understanding the Direction of Arabic Script
The earliest form of Arabic, known as the Safaitic dialect, was spoken by nomadic tribes in the Syro-Arabian desert. This ancient version of Arabic was mainly inscribed from right to left, which had a significant impact on the direction of the Arabic script.
