Voyager 1 is set to exit the solar system as it moves towards the constellation of Ophiuchus. In the distant future, specifically in the year 40,272 AD—over 38,200 years from now—it is predicted that Voyager 1 will approach within 1.7 light years of a relatively unknown star known as AC+79 3888, located in the constellation Ursa Minor (also referred to as the Little Bear or Little Dipper).
