Prayer Recommendations for the Holy Mosque in Mecca
In the Holy Mosque in Mecca, numerous prayers can be recited. Below is a selection of these prayers:
Prayers upon Entering the Mosque
There are specific supplications that can be made upon entering the Holy Mosque, including:
- (O Allah, open for me the doors of Your mercy. And when exiting, one should say: O Allah, I ask You for Your grace).
- (I seek refuge with Allah, the Exalted, and with His Noble Face, and with His Eternal Sovereignty, from the accursed devil).
- (In the name of Allah, O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad).
- O Allah, this is Your sanctuary and Your safe harbor; save me from the Fire and protect me from Your punishment on the Day You resurrect Your servants. Make me among Your allies and amongst those who obey You.
Prayers Upon Seeing the Kaaba
When a Muslim first gazes upon the revered Kaaba, they may offer the following prayers:
- (O Allah, increase the honor, glorification, and reverence of this House, and bestow greater honor upon those who honor it, whether they come for pilgrimage or Umrah, with dignity, respect, and appreciation).
- O Allah, You are Peace, and from You comes peace; grant us life in peace, O our Lord.
Prayers While Performing Tawaf
During Tawaf, a Muslim can recite several supplications, including:
- The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) used to pray during his Raml: (O Allah, make this pilgrimage accepted, forgive my sins, and reward my efforts).
- The Prophet (peace be upon him) would begin Tawaf with: (In the name of Allah, and Allah is the Greatest. O Allah, I believe in You, confirm Your Book, fulfill Your covenant, and follow the Sunnah of Your Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him)).
- O Allah, forgive and have mercy, pardon what You know; You are the Most Mighty, Most Generous. O our Lord, grant us goodness in this world, and goodness in the hereafter, and protect us from the torment of the Fire.
- O Allah, I am Your servant and the son of Your servant. I come to You burdened with numerous sins and bad deeds. This is the station of one seeking refuge from the Fire, so forgive me, for You are the Most Forgiving, Most Merciful.
Prayers at Al-Multazam
At Al-Multazam, which is the space between the Kaaba and the Black Stone, Muslims may offer the following prayer: “O Allah, all praise is for You, a praise that is commensurate with Your blessings and rewards. I praise You with all the praises I know and those unknown to me, for all Your blessings, known and unknown. In every circumstance, O Allah, send blessings and peace upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad. O Allah, protect me from the accursed devil, shield me from all evils, suffice me with the provisions You have granted me, and bless me in them. O Allah, make me among the most honored of Your guests and guide me on the path of righteousness until I meet You, O Lord of the worlds.”
Prayers in the Hijr
Within the Hijr, a supplication that can be recited is: “O Lord, I have come to You from a distant place, hoping for Your kindness. Grant me a favor from Your vast kindness that will suffice me over the kindness of anyone other than You, O Generous One.”
Prayers During Sa’i
During Sa’i, Muslims may express the following prayer: “Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, and to Allah be all praise. Allahu Akbar for the guidance He has granted us, and praise be to Allah for what He has bestowed upon us. There is no deity but Allah, alone, with no partner; His is the sovereignty and His is the praise; He gives life and causes death. In His Hands is all good, and He has power over all things. There is no deity but Allah, who fulfilled His promise, aided His servant, and defeated the factions alone. There is no deity but Allah, and we do not worship anyone but Him, dedicating our religion entirely to Him, even if the disbelievers dislike it. O Allah, You said, ‘Call upon Me, and I will respond to you,’ and You do not break Your promise. I ask You, as You guided me to Islam, to protect it from me until You take my soul while I am a Muslim.”
