Parrots can actually perceive a wider range of colors than humans. While we possess three types of color-sensitive cones in our eyes to identify red, green, and blue hues, birds have an additional fourth cone. This unique cone allows them to detect ultraviolet (UV) light, thereby expanding their ability to see a more extensive array of colors compared to us. So, in essence, parrots are not color blind; they have a rich visual experience.
