What happens if a baby is born?

Once your baby is born, they will undergo an assessment conducted by a midwife, neonatal nurse, or pediatrician. This will include weighing, and possibly measuring your baby, along with attaching a wrist or ankle band that displays your name. After this, your midwife or maternity support worker will assist you in washing up and refreshing yourself before you are moved to the postnatal ward.
