Morning Remembrances: A Brief Guide

Morning Remembrances

Morning remembrances are among the best ways to start one’s day, creating a bright beginning filled with goodness and the love of God. They serve as a protective shield for the reader from dawn to dusk. In this article, I have compiled a concise collection of morning remembrances for your benefit.

Concise Morning Remembrances

All praise is due to Allah, the Lord of the worlds, and I bear witness that there is no deity worthy of worship except Allah, who has no partners. I also bear witness that Muhammad is His servant and Messenger; may peace and blessings be upon him, his family, and his companions. To proceed: This is a summary from my work titled (Morning and Evening Remembrances), wherein I present the remembrances that are recited in the morning and evening without additional commentary or evidence. For those seeking further understanding and insight, I encourage you to refer to the original text. May God grant success.

  • In the name of Allah, with whose name nothing in the heavens or on earth can cause harm; He is the All-Hearing, All-Knowing (recited three times).
  • I seek refuge in the complete words of Allah from the evil of what He has created.
  • Subhan Allah and all praise is due to Him (recited one hundred times). No one will come on the Day of Resurrection with anything better than what they have brought, except for a person who says like what has been said or adds to it.
  • There is no deity but Allah alone, with no partner; His is the dominion and His is the praise, and He has power over all things.
  • O Allah! You are my Lord; there is no deity but You. You created me, and I am Your servant. I will uphold my pledge to You as much as I can. I seek refuge in You from the evil of what I have done. I acknowledge Your favors upon me, and I confess my sins; so forgive me, for none forgive sins except You.
  • We have entered the evening, and sovereignty belongs to Allah. All praise is for Allah; there is no deity but Allah alone, with no partner; His is the dominion and His is the praise, and He has power over all things. O Lord, I ask You for the best of what this night holds and the best that follows it. I seek refuge in You from the evil of this night and the evil that follows it. O Lord, I seek refuge in You from laziness and the evil of old age. O Lord, I seek refuge in You from punishment in Hell and punishment in the grave. When morning comes, say this: We have entered the morning, and sovereignty belongs to Allah.
  • Recite Surah Al-Ikhlas and the two protective surahs (Al-Falaq and An-Nas) three times in the evening and in the morning; they will suffice you from everything.
  • When morning comes, one should say: O Allah, we have entered the morning by You, and we have entered the evening by You. In You, we live, and in You, we die, and to You is the return. When evening comes, say: O Allah, we have entered the evening by You…
  • O Allah, Knower of the unseen and the witnessed, Creator of the heavens and the earth, Lord of all things and its Sovereign. I bear witness that there is no deity but You. I seek refuge in You from the evil of my soul and from the evil of Satan and his temptations, lest I bring harm upon myself or bring it to a Muslim. Say this when you awaken, when evening falls, and when you lie down to rest.
  • Recite three times: I am content with Allah as my Lord, with Islam as my religion, and with Muhammad as my Prophet.
  • O Allah, I ask You for well-being in this world and the Hereafter. I ask You for pardon and well-being in my religion, my worldly affairs, my family, and my wealth. O Allah, conceal my faults and secure me from panic. O Allah, guard me from in front, from behind, to my right, to my left, and from above. I seek refuge in Your greatness from being struck from below.
  • There is no deity but Allah, alone with no partner; His is the dominion, and His is the praise, and He has power over all things.
  • We have entered the morning upon the Fitrah of Islam, upon the word of sincerity, upon the religion of our Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), and upon the faith of our father Ibrahim, a true Muslim, and he was not among the polytheists.
  • O Allah, I bear witness that I am turning to You, and I bear witness to the bearers of Your Throne, Your angels, and all Your creations that You are Allah; there is no deity but You, and that Muhammad is Your servant and Messenger.
  • O Allah, I seek refuge in You from worry and sorrow, from incapacity and laziness, from stinginess and cowardice, from being overwhelmed by debt, and from being dominated by men.
  • O Allah, any blessing I have this morning (or any blessing among Your creations) is solely from You and You alone; for that, I express my gratitude, and whoever says this in the evening has expressed his gratitude for the night.
  • Subhan Allah and all praise is due to Him, by the number of His creation, according to His pleasure, by the weight of His Throne, and by the ink of His words.
  • O Ever-Living, O Sustainer, in Your mercy do I seek help; rectify all my matters, and do not leave me to handle my affairs even for the blink of an eye.
  • In the name of Allah, with whose name nothing in the heavens or on earth can cause harm; He is the All-Hearing, All-Knowing (recited three times).
  • I am satisfied with Allah as my Lord, with Islam as my religion, and with Muhammad (peace be upon him) as my Prophet (recited three times).
  • Allah is enough for me; there is no deity but Him; in Him, I place my trust, and He is the Lord of the Mighty Throne (whoever says this seven times, Allah will suffice him concerning what troubles him).
  • O Ever-Living, O Sustainer, in your mercy I seek help; rectify all my matters, and do not leave me to myself even for the blink of an eye.
  • Recite Ayat al-Kursi: “Allah! There is no deity but He, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of existence. Neither drowsiness overtakes Him nor sleep. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. Who is it that can intercede with Him except by His permission? He knows what is before them and what will be after them, and they encompass not a thing of His knowledge except for what He wills. His Kursi extends over the heavens and the earth, and their preservation tires Him not. And He is the Most High, the Most Great.”
  • Recite the two protective Surahs (Say, “I seek refuge with the Lord of the daybreak,” and “Say, ‘I seek refuge with the Lord of mankind.'”).
  • O Allah, You are my Lord; there is no deity but You. You created me, and I am Your servant, and I uphold my pledge to You as much as I can. I seek refuge in You from the evil of what I have done. I acknowledge Your favors upon me and I confess my sins; so forgive me, for none can forgive sins except You (whoever says it in the morning with belief and dies that day, he enters Paradise).
  • O Allah, Creator of the heavens and the earth, Knower of the unseen and the witnessed, Lord of everything and Sovereign. I bear witness that there is no deity but You. I seek refuge in You from the evil of my soul and from the evil of Satan and his temptations, lest I bring harm upon myself or bring it to a Muslim.
  • We have entered the morning, and sovereignty belongs to Allah, and all praise is due to Allah. There is no deity but Allah alone, with no partner; His is the dominion and His is the praise, and He has power over all things. O Lord, I ask You for the best of what this day holds and the best that follows it. I seek refuge in You from the evil of this day and from the evils that follow. O Lord, I seek refuge in You from laziness and the evil of arrogance. O Lord, I seek refuge in You from punishment in Hell and punishment in the grave.
  • O Allah, with You we have awoken, with You we have entered the evening, and in You we live, and in You we die, and to You is the resurrection.
  • We have awoken upon the Fitrah of Islam, upon the word of sincerity, upon the religion of our Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), and upon the faith of our father Ibrahim, a true Muslim, and he was not among the polytheists.
  • O Allah, I ask You for well-being in this world and in the Hereafter. O Allah, I ask You for pardon and well-being in my religion, my worldly affairs, my family, and my wealth. • There is no deity but Allah alone, with no partner; His is the dominion, and His is the praise, and He has power over all things (whoever recites this one hundred times in a day is equivalent to freeing ten slaves, and he will earn one hundred good deeds and have one hundred sins erased).
