Prayers from the Holy Quran
Prayer holds significant importance in a Muslim’s life, with an expansive realm for supplication. This section highlights a selection of brief prayers that have been mentioned in the Holy Quran:
- (Our Lord, we have believed in what You have sent down and have followed the Messenger, so register us among the witnesses.)
- (Our Lord, judge between us and our people in truth, for You are the best of judges.)
- (Our Lord, You have not created this in vain; Exalted are You! Protect us from the punishment of the Fire.)
- (Our Lord, grant us in this world goodness and in the Hereafter goodness, and protect us from the punishment of the Fire.)
Authentic Supplications from the Prophetic Tradition
The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) encouraged believers to engage in prayer and intimate conversation with Allah. Every Muslim is free to pray as they wish, provided they adhere to the etiquettes and conditions of supplication. Here are some concise and beautiful prayers that one can direct towards Allah:
- (O Lord, forgive my sins and ignorance, and be excessive in my matters. And what You know better about me than I do. O Allah, forgive my mistakes, my deliberate errors, my ignorance, my jokes, and all of that which I consider insignificant.)
- (O Allah, forgive me for what I have done in the past and for what I may do in the future, whether I have concealed or revealed it. You are the First and the Last, and You have power over all things.)
- (O Allah, rectify my religion, which is my safeguard. Rectify my worldly affairs, in which is my livelihood. Rectify my Hereafter, where I shall return. Make life an increase for me in all that is good, and make death a relief for me from all evil.)
- (O Allah, I ask You for all that is good, both immediately and in the future, that which I know and that which I do not know. I seek refuge in You from all evil, both immediately and in the future, that which I know and that which I do not know.)
- (O Allah, I ask You for the best of what Your servant and Prophet has asked of You, and I seek refuge in You from the worst of what Your servant and Prophet sought refuge from. O Allah, I ask You for Paradise and all that brings me closer to it through word or deed, and I seek refuge in You from the Fire and all that brings me closer to it through word or deed. I ask You to make all that You have decreed for me good.)
