Prayers for the Completion of the Quran

Prayers Upon Completing the Quran

It is a recommended practice for Muslims to offer prayers at the conclusion of the Holy Quran, expressing their personal wishes and desires. The following are examples of such prayers:

  • “O Allah, have mercy on me through the Quran, and make it for me an Imam, a light, guidance, and a mercy.”
  • “O Allah, remind me of what I have forgotten from it, teach me what I do not know, and grant me the ability to recite it throughout the night and at the edges of the day. Make it my argument, O Lord of the worlds.”
  • “O Allah, rectify for me my religion, which is my safeguard; rectify for me my worldly life, which is my means of sustenance; and rectify for me my Hereafter, which is my eventual return. Make my life an increase for me in every good, and make my death a release for me from every evil.”
  • “O Allah, let the best of my life be its last part, the best of my deeds be their concluding moments, and the best of my days be the day I meet You.”
  • “O Allah, I ask You for a blessed life, a sound death, and a return that does not bring disgrace or exposure.”
  • “O Allah, I ask You for the best of requests, the best of supplications, the best of successes, the best of knowledge, the best of deeds, the best of rewards, the best of lives, and the best of deaths. Strengthen me, weigh down my scales, affirm my faith, elevate my status, accept my prayers, forgive my sins, and grant me the highest ranks in paradise.”
  • “O Allah, I seek from You the causes of Your mercy, the firm resolutions for Your forgiveness, safety from every sin, the gain from every good deed, and success in paradise, and salvation from the Fire.”
  • “O Allah, grant us good outcomes in all our affairs, and protect us from the humiliation of this world and the torment of the Hereafter.”
  • “O Allah, bestow upon us from Your fear that which acts as a barrier between us and disobedience to You, from obedience that brings us closer to Your paradise, and from certainty that eases the trials of this life. Bless us with our hearing, sight, and strength as long as You keep us alive, and make these our inheritance. Grant us victory over those who have wronged us and support us against those who oppose us, and do not allow our calamity to be in our religion. Do not let this world be our greatest concern or the limit of our knowledge, and do not empower those who do not show us mercy.”
  • “O Allah, do not leave us with a sin except that You forgive it, no concern except that You relieve it, no debt except that You fulfill it, and no need from the needs of this world and the Hereafter except that You fulfill it, O Most Merciful of the merciful.”
  • “Our Lord, grant us in this world goodness, and in the Hereafter goodness, and protect us from the punishment of the Fire. May the peace and blessings of Allah be upon our Master and Prophet Muhammad, and upon his family and beloved companions, abundantly.”

Prayers for Muslims Upon Completing the Quran

It is also commendable to pray for other Muslims as part of the concluding blessings upon finishing the Quran. Below are several prayers that can be offered for the Muslim community:

  • “O Allah, we ask You for humility among the humble, sincerity among the believers, companionship with the righteous, merit in the truths of faith, and the reward for every good deed, safety from every sin, the assurance of Your mercy, the strength for Your forgiveness, success in paradise, and salvation from the Fire.”
  • “O Allah, unite our hearts, repair our relationships, guide us to the paths of peace, bring us from darkness into light, keep us away from obscenity, bless our actions, our lifespans, our spouses, our offspring, our time, and our wealth, and make us blessed wherever we are.”

Introduction to Quran Completion Prayers

Before supplicating, it is essential for the Muslim to glorify Allah – the Exalted and Grand – by expressing gratitude for the ability to complete the Quran. One may begin with the following praises: “There is no deity but He, the One characterized by glory through perfect beauty, exalted by His greatness and majesty, who sent down the Quran to His servant to be a warning to the worlds, and the truthful messenger, Muhammad – peace be upon him – whom He sent to both humanity and jinn as a bringer of good news and a warner, guiding to Allah by His permission, and a shining lamp.”

“Indeed, Allah, the Forgiving, the Generous, to whom all standing have submitted; the One who makes the burdens of hardship lighter by His will; Lord of the Lords, originator of causes, the Revealer of the Book, and the Creator of creation from clay; Forgiver of sins, Accepting of repentance, Severe in punishment, Owner of bounty. There is no deity but He. Upon Him, I place my trust, and to Him is my return. Truly, His promises are fulfilled, and who can be more truthful than Allah?”
