Short Islamic Prayers for Ramadan

The Holy Quran and the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) contain numerous prayers that Muslims can recite at any time. Below are some selected prayers from these sacred texts:

  • (Our Lord, turn away from us the torment of Hell, for indeed its torment is ever adhering).
  • (Our Lord, grant us mercy from Yourself and facilitate for us our matter in guidance).
  • (My Lord, make me an establisher of prayer, and many from my descendants. Our Lord, and accept my supplication).
  • (Our Lord, accept this from us; indeed You are the Hearing, the Knowing).
  • (O Ever-Living, O Sustainer, I seek Your mercy. Set right for me all of my affairs, and do not leave me to myself even for the blink of an eye).
  • (O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the loss of Your blessings, the transition of Your health, the suddenness of Your punishment, and all forms of Your displeasure).
  • (O Allah, I seek refuge in You from worries and sadness, incapacity, laziness, stinginess, cowardice, overwhelming debt, and the oppression of men).
  • (O Allah, suffice me with Your lawful provisions against Your prohibitions, and enrich me with Your grace from others).
  • (Our Lord, grant us good in this world and good in the Hereafter, and protect us from the torment of the Fire).

Beautiful Prayers for the Month of Ramadan

There are numerous well-known supplications associated with the various situations during the blessed month of Ramadan that Muslims can use in their prayers. Here are some of these invocations:

  • (The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) used to say upon seeing the crescent moon: O Allah, let it be upon us with blessings, faith, safety, and Islam, my Lord and yours is Allah), which he recited upon sighting the new moon.
  • According to Abdullah ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him), the Prophet (peace be upon him) would say at the time of breaking the fast: The thirst has gone, the veins are moistened, and the reward is confirmed if Allah wills.
  • According to Anas ibn Malik (may Allah be pleased with him), whenever the Prophet (peace be upon him) broke his fast at someone’s house, he would say: The fasting ones have broken their fast with you, the righteous have eaten your food, and the angels have descended upon you.
  • According to Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), she asked the Prophet (peace be upon him): O Messenger of Allah, if I know which night is the Night of Decree, what should I say? He replied: Say, O Allah, indeed You are Forgiving and Generous, and You love forgiveness, so forgive me.

Supplications for Completing the Quran During Ramadan

The following are some prayers that Muslims can recite at the completion of the Holy Quran, as well as in other contexts:

  • (O Allah, rectify for me my religion which is my safeguard; rectify for me my worldly affairs in which I live; rectify for me my Hereafter to which I shall return; and make life an increase for me in every good and make death a relief for me from all evil).
  • (O Allah, I ask You for the means of Your mercy, the firm resolutions of Your forgiveness, safety from all sins, the gaining of all good, and success in Paradise and deliverance from the Fire).
  • (O Allah, remind me of what I have forgotten from it, teach me what I am ignorant of, grant me the recitation of it at all times of the night and day, and make it a proof for me, O Lord of the worlds).
  • (O Allah, do not leave for us any sin except that You have forgiven it, nor any care except that You have relieved it, nor any debt except that You have settled it, nor any need from the needs of this world or the Hereafter except that You have fulfilled it, O Most Merciful of the merciful).
  • (O Allah, have mercy upon me by the Quran, and make it for me an imam, light, guidance, and mercy).
  • (O Allah, make the best of my life the last of it, and the best of my deeds the last deeds of my life, and the best of my days the day I meet You).
  • (O Allah, I ask You for a pleasant life, a sound death, and a return that is not disgraceful nor sinful).
  • (O Allah, I ask You for the best of requests, the best of supplications, the best of successes, the best of knowledge, the best of deeds, the best of rewards, the best of life, the best of death and establish me, weigh my good deeds, perfect my faith, raise my rank, accept my prayer, forgive my sins, and I ask You for the highest levels of Paradise).
  • (O Allah, grant us good endings in all affairs, and protect us from the disgrace of this world and the punishment of the Hereafter).
  • (O Allah, grant us a share of Your fear that will prevent us from disobeying You, and a share of obedience that will lead us to Your Paradise; and grant us certainty that will make the calamities of this world easy upon us; and bless us with our hearing, sight, and strength for as long as You keep us alive, and make them an inheritance for us; and grant us retribution against those who wronged us, and support us against those who oppose us; and do not make our calamities in our religion, nor make this world our greatest concern or the limit of our knowledge, nor empower over us those who do not show us mercy).
  • (O Allah, do not leave us with any sin except that You have forgiven it, or any care except that You have relieved it, or any debt except that You have settled it, or any need from the needs of this world and the Hereafter except that You have fulfilled it, O Most Merciful of the merciful).
  • O Allah, bless and grant peace upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and companions abundantly.
