Techniques for Applying Eyeliner
Achieving the perfect liquid eyeliner look requires precision and a certain level of expertise. However, there are several tricks that can simplify the application process. Here are some recommended steps for optimal eyeliner application:
- Position a spoon in the opposite direction of your cheekbones, placing its outer edge at the lower outer corner of your eye and angling it upwards.
- Adjust the handle of the spoon before beginning to apply the eyeliner for better control.
- Move the eyeliner brush along the edge of the spoon to create a defined line.
- Utilize the upper curve of the spoon to form a winged effect, giving your eyeliner a polished finish.
Using Adhesive Tape
Adhesive tape can also serve as an effective tool for applying liquid eyeliner. Here’s how to do it:
- Cut a piece of tape approximately 2.45 cm long and press it several times with your fingers to reduce its stickiness, making it gentler on the delicate skin around your eyes.
- Place the tape beneath your upper lash line at the outer corner of your eye, angled towards your brow.
- Gently pull the outer corner of your eye with your pinky finger to ensure optimal control while drawing the eyeliner.
- Begin applying the eyeliner from the center of your upper lash line, moving towards the outer corner in a straight line.
- Continue to extend the eyeliner in a straight fashion until reaching the edge, achieving the desired thickness.
- Once done, carefully remove the tape to reveal a crisp line.
Using a Pencil Liner
A pencil liner can be applied for eyeliner as follows:
- Sharpen the pencil to achieve the desired pigmentation.
- Heat the tip of the pencil with a hairdryer for a few seconds to enhance the color payoff during application.
- Gently pull the outer corner of your eyelid along the upper lashes to create a taut canvas for a straight line.
- Start applying the eyeliner from the middle of the upper eyelid towards the outer edge.
- Apply a lighter shade of eyeliner on the inner corner of the upper lash line, blending it with a darker shade using an eyeshadow brush.
- Fill in any visible gaps between the lashes on the upper line to complete the overall eyeliner look.
