Prince Saud Al-Faisal was married to one of his relatives, Princess Jawhara bint Faisal bin Abdullah bin Abdul Rahman bin Faisal bin Turki bin Abdullah Al Saud. The couple was blessed with six children, comprising three sons and three daughters:

About Prince Saud Al-Faisal
The full name of Prince Saud Al-Faisal is Saud bin Faisal bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. He was born on January 2, 1940, in Taif, Saudi Arabia. He earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from Princeton University between 1964 and 1965. In 1975, he was appointed as Minister of Foreign Affairs by King Khalid, assuming this critical role in his thirties.
Prince Saud is recognized for holding the longest tenure as Foreign Minister in Saudi Arabia’s history. He has an esteemed place in the diplomatic community and was fluent in seven languages in addition to his native Arabic, including English, German, Italian, French, and Spanish, among others.
The Family of Prince Saud Al-Faisal
Born into a royal family, Prince Saud Al-Faisal was the son of King Faisal bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, who ruled Saudi Arabia from November 2, 1964, to March 25, 1975. His mother was Princess Iffat bint Mohammed bin Saud Al Thunayan Al Saud, the only wife of a Saudi king to be granted the title of “Her Majesty the Queen.” She was also a half-sister to Kamel Adham, the founder of the Saudi intelligence service.
Positions Held by Prince Saud Al-Faisal
Prior to his appointment as Minister of Foreign Affairs, Prince Saud Al-Faisal held several key positions:
- Economic Advisor to the Ministry of Petroleum in 1966.
- Deputy Governor of the Saudi Arabian Oil Company (Petromin) for Planning in 1970.
- Deputy Minister of Petroleum in 1971.
- Minister of Foreign Affairs in 1975.
- Involved in the Energy Sector in 1998.
- Chairman of Saudi Aramco in 1999.
- Chairman of the Supreme Economic Council in 2009.
Passing of Prince Saud Al-Faisal
Prince Saud Al-Faisal’s health deteriorated significantly in his final days, rendering him unable to stand upright due to back pain, which necessitated multiple surgical procedures in the United States. He passed away on July 9, 2015, in Los Angeles, California, at the age of 75. His remains were transported to the Grand Mosque in Mecca for funeral prayers.
