Divine Guidance and Success
Attaining success through divine guidance is a remarkable achievement. Those whom Allah bestows the ability to purify their souls find themselves elevated to the highest levels of success. This happens when one renounces sins and disbelief while embracing faith and obedience to Allah and His Messenger. The assistance and guidance from Allah are indispensable in both this world and the hereafter. It is sought solely from Allah (Exalted be He), for those who seek success from others are deprived. Key components of success include genuine faith, a heart filled with piety, adherence to moral virtues, diligence in work, embracing renewal in life, and the pursuit of knowledge.
Prayers for Success
Divine guidance is indeed a blessing, and here are several beneficial prayers for achieving success:
- O Allah, make all Your creations subservient to me as You made the sea subservient to our Prophet Moses (peace be upon him). Soften their hearts towards me as You softened iron for David (peace be upon him). They speak only with Your permission, their forelocks are in Your grasp, and their hearts are in Your hands; You direct them as You wish. O Turner of the hearts, keep my heart steadfast upon Your religion. O Knower of the unseen, I have extinguished their anger with the proclamation of “There is no deity but You,” and I have drawn forth their affection.
- O Allah, assist me and do not assist against me. Vindicate me and do not vindicate against me. Scheme for me and do not scheme against me. Guide me, and make guidance easy for me. Grant me victory over those who transgress against me. O Lord, make me grateful to You, always remembering You, humble before You, repentant, and responsive. O Lord, accept my repentance, cleanse my sins, answer my supplication, affirm my argument, guide my heart, and direct my speech, and free my heart from malice.
- There is no deity but You, glorified be You; indeed, I have been among the wrongdoers.
- O Ever-Living, O Sustainer, I seek assistance through Your mercy. Rectify all my affairs and do not leave me to rely on myself even for the blink of an eye.
- O Allah, I seek refuge in You from going astray or leading others astray, from stumbling or causing others to stumble, from wrongdoing or being wronged, from ignorance or being treated with ignorance.
- O Allah, nothing is easy except what You make easy, and You can make distress easy when You will.
- O Allah, You are the One with vast mercy, who is aware of all secrets, intentions, and thoughts. Nothing is hidden from You. I ask You for an abundance of Your favor, a handful of the light of Your authority, and comfort and relief from the ocean of Your generosity. All matters are in Your hands, and You are in control of everything. Grant us what pleases our eyes and makes us independent of asking others, for You are generous, bountiful, and possess admirable qualities. We stand at Your door, awaiting Your abundant favors, O Generous and Merciful.
- O Allah, I ask You to make this matter easy for me and to grant the best outcome, for You are capable of all things.
- O Allah, I place my trust in You and entrust my affairs to You, for there is no refuge or escape from You except toward You.
- O Lord, lead me to a truthful entry and exit, and grant me a supporting authority from Yourself.
- O Lord, expand my breast, ease my tasks, and untie the knot from my tongue so that they may comprehend my speech.
