The Most Beautiful Words About Ramadan

Beautiful Sayings about Ramadan

  • The fasting individual has two joys: a joy upon breaking the fast and a joy when meeting their Lord. Engage in fasting, for it has no equal.
  • During Ramadan, open your heart, which may be closed, with the keys of forgiveness. Knock on the doors that may have been shut between you and others, placing your bouquets of kindness on their thresholds. Ensure that the spaces between you and others remain as pure as fresh snow, for the fasting person is dearer to Allah than the fragrance of musk.
  • Rush towards good deeds, avoid the forbidden, keep your right hand’s good deeds hidden from your left, and refrain from backbiting, so you do not break your fast on the flesh of your dead brother.
  • The noble companions have been raised with this motto and lived with this eternal prayer. They awaited Ramadan with eagerness and prayed for its arrival six months in advance, then mourned its departure for six months.
  • Fasting is the clearest indicator of a servant’s sincerity.
  • Strive against your desires as much as you can, purify your heart before your body, and your tongue before your hands. Counter every attempt to disrupt your fast and beware of being among those who gain nothing from their fasting but thirst and hunger.
  • Ramadan is a month during which Muslims rise in ranks—a remarkable and beautiful month that brings joy to the heart of the believer.
  • In Ramadan, shut the cities of your grudges and knock on the doors of mercy and love. Be merciful to those near you and extend kindness to those afar; cultivate spaces of peace within you and eliminate the darkness that resides inside.
  • In this blessed month, reorganize yourself and gather your scattered fragments. Draw closer to your distant dreams, discover the goodness within you, and overcome your baser self.
  • Indeed, Allah has created a special door in Paradise for those who engage frequently in fasting.
  • It is the only deed for which Allah has reserved the reward solely for Himself.
  • Whoever fasts one day for the sake of Allah will find that Allah distances them from the Fire by seventy autumns.

Poetry about Ramadan

  • As mentioned by Al-Lawaḥ:

In you, the destined night appears,

All matters concern harm and benefit.

The Night of Decree is better than a thousand months,

It is a successful night for the diligent.

How many are your virtues that are countless,

Departing with you, and Your generosity is well known.

Departing yet I wish I knew if my sins,

Were with the farewell erased or endured.

O Ramadan, farewell, my dear,

The separation is felt after affection once shared.

Perhaps Allah will allow us to reunite,

And exchange with satisfaction the multiplied deeds.

  • And he also says:

O month of fasting, will you not return?

For with your return, we will find relief.

You have brightened hearts with your glow,

Sanctified the speaker and speech.

Angels of Heaven accompanied us with you,

And we welcomed mosques and congregations.

How many did you clothe in your light,

As you filled the cities and valleys.

When the night becomes dark, it spreads therein,

And throughout the seven heavens, your presence is felt.

  • As stated by Ibn Qalaqis:

Oh, do you not see Ramadan approaching, full of joy,

While Sha’ban departs with regret.

And if Allah loves a servant, He places him,

In every heart he holds a special place.

In his hand, his tongue, and his intellect,

There are favors and faith, and safety.

On the gardens of his fingers,

And through his speech, there are no limits to the wonders that appear.

What can I say about the virtues,

That stand out without boasting, not one human has.

If I said like the moon, beautiful in appearance,

The moon may fade with time and be diminished.

If I said the clouds showcase grace,

His generosity endures through generations.

O Keeper of Faith, hear my praises of him,

Sing the melodies as caravans move.

For you are the smile amidst noble deeds,

And in the eyes of glory, you are human.

  • As expressed by Ibn Al-Jinan:

Ramadan has passed, or has it truly departed,

And its radiance fades after what it once illuminated.

O you who were the most generous of companions,

And your era is dear to me to break.

Was it not like a breeze in summer, visiting us,

Which settled with us for an hour, then withdrew?
