Poem: The Gentle Breeze of Roses and Jasmine
Written by poet Zayed bin Sultan:
O gentle breeze of roses and jasmine,
Welcome, coming from my homeland.
Greeting you as long as the clouds pour rain,
Or when the downpour brings joy to the barren lands.
A warm welcome to my beloved companion,
As you are my soothing talk and comforting hand.
When I gaze upon you, my worries fade away,
You are the remedy for my anguished soul.
You embody my life, my paradise, or my fire,
For you, O Minister of my heart, I sing this song.
Tears flow from the eyes, expressing my sorrow,
Complaints arise from a yearning heart.
A lover hides or lingers in my reveries,
Passing through, with pleasure in every strain.
Captivating my heart with your enchanting charm,
Year by year, our bond does not wane.
Your absence is a chill in my evening air,
My friend, if you desire, let us mend our bond.
Experience the magic of this world anew,
Seek the joy you once knew and be whole again.
When darkness blankets the night,
Your brilliance lights my path once more.
And as day breaks anew,
May it open its arms wide to welcome you.
It brings me a sense of peace and calm,
Just as you once lifted me to joy.
With you, I feel a twinkle of my heart,
Your happiness reflects in every aspect of my being.
Between you and me, O guardian of my secrets.
Poem: God Has Granted Us Abundance and Blessings
God has granted us abundance and rich blessings,
And for that, gratitude is mandatory upon us.
You who have given me faith and inspiration,
From His continuous grace, we have received.
And today, dreams have turned into reality,
Overflowing with roses and jasmine blooms.
As long as the nation thrives on planning and bounty,
Beautified and adorned, with splendor intertwined.
A nation we built, proud and Islamic,
Amid the nations, our banner stands tall.
Our people are content with the blessings bestowed,
Resting easy in these prosperous years.
These efforts span many years and endeavors,
Pursuing glory that’s truly ours.
We strive for the unity of Muslims,
Rejecting gossip and rumors.
And we shall disregard the tales of the envious,
For God has granted us abundance and riches,
And gratitude is a necessity for us all.
You who has gifted me faith and inspiration,
From His continuous grace, we have received.
Poem: Welcome a Thousand Times
O dear traveler of my homeland,
O joy for those who see their home.
Even if it costs dearly for you,
Do not let my state be a matter of burden.
Embrace me kindly with your great compassion,
And grant me fairness through your deeds.
You’ve captured my heart with the gaze of your eyes,
Now sleep eludes me; it’s no longer near.
God grants reprieve for all who cherish you,
O my vision and the light of my eyes.
It’s an honor to cherish your beauty and kindness,
For none can compare to you, my love.
In beauty and eloquence of speech,
Your visage is like that of the heavenly maidens.
Yes, with all that you possess,
How glorious you shine!
Poem: The Light of Dawn
Welcome, light of dawn, dispelling shadows,
Welcome with a thousand warm embraces.
Welcome as the rain refreshes the clouds,
With every gentle breeze that whispers softly.
I extend my greetings and salutation to you,
In response to the day that greets with joy.
A wise person grasps the essence of my words,
For understanding is a gift bestowed upon the intelligent.
Without you, my world is distressing;
My love for you has ignited a flame.
I am content, and I offer my soul as a gift,
You have captured me and held me within your reins.
And I have surrendered myself to you willingly,
For surely, none other deserves my blame.
And good deeds are reaped in kind,
May God protect you, O graceful gazelle.
You, the prince of the beautiful, have my loyal devotion,
Worthy of all my love and respect.
And I need nothing more than your approval.
Poem: The Noble and Generous
Ah, to you who brings joy and solace,
Your grace cannot be measured or contained.
For you are a Muslim, with no peer comparable,
Yet you stand alone, unmatched.
With your charm and elegance renowned,
And with great skill, your strength does not wane.
Awake, depicted in beauty and celebration,
With dark-haired eyes that lure the beholder.
A beauty with lashes beautifully adorned,
To those who behold your captivating gaze.
In your presence, hearts take flight,
For the noble and generous hold great honor.
None like you exists in this world,
For your deeds in this nation stand tall.
With respect and wholesome efforts,
Your heart shines brightly in the community.
When trials come to test our resolve,
Let goodness prevail, for we have each other.
A legacy of honor, forever lasting.
