The Evening Melody Poem
The poem “Evening Melody” is composed by the Algerian poet Abdelkareem Qedhifa, a prominent poet and storyteller born in Jabal Masad, Bousaada. He currently serves as the chief radio director at the Hadna Regional Radio. He has been a member of the Algerian Writers Union since 1987 and part of the Al-Jahiz Cultural Association since 1992. His name appears in the “Dictionary of Algerian Writers” published by Dar Al-Hadara. The Evening Poem
The poem “Evening” is by the poet Ibrahim Nagy, born in Cairo. He graduated from medical school in 1922 and was employed as a physician in the Ministry of Transportation. He drew inspiration from classic Arabic culture, studying metrics and rhymes while reading the works of various renowned poets such as Al-Mutanabbi, Ibn Al-Rumi, and Abu Nuwas. Following his passing, several important studies on his work emerged, including “Ibrahim Nagy” by the poet Saleh Joudat and “Nagy” by Dr. Nemat Ahmed Fouad. His works, including “Behind the Clouds,” “Cairo Nights,” “In the Temple of Night,” and “The Wounded Bird,” along with his complete poetry collection, were published posthumously by the Supreme Council for Culture. My revelation and greatest poem—
What nourishment have you left for me
Except for this reminiscence?
