Consequences of God’s Anger on the Servant
Committing sins is one of the primary reasons for incurring God’s anger. This anger can result in several significant consequences, including:
- Deprivation of knowledge, which serves as a light for the heart.
- Lack of sustenance and the absence of blessings in one’s provisions.
- Darkness of the heart.
- Difficulties in achieving one’s objectives; every endeavor the servant attempts to accomplish can be hindered by the sins that provoke God’s wrath.
- Inability to perform acts of obedience.
- A sense of estrangement and distance that the believer experiences with God due to His anger.
Signs Indicating God’s Anger
There are numerous indications and signs that reveal God’s displeasure with a servant. Some of these signs include:
- Embracing what God despises and rejecting what He loves.
- Avoiding the faithful and keeping company with those who stray from God’s path.
- Having a negative reputation and poor standing among people in this worldly life.
- Persisting in wrongdoing and disobedience to the Creator.
- Neglecting the obligatory acts of worship prescribed by God, such as prayer and fasting, as well as disregarding people’s rights and being indifferent to the consequences, both in this life and the hereafter.
- Disliking advice and guidance from those who promote good and righteousness.
- Supporting the disobedient and having affection for that which does not please God.
- Exhibiting traits that God abhors, such as gossip, backbiting, and other undesirable qualities. When God dislikes a trait, He also detests His servants embodying it.
- Being heedless of the afterlife and pursuing worldly gains.
- Committing major sins, including adultery, slander against chaste individuals, and usury.
- Imitating the disbelievers and the sinful.
- Engaging in polytheism and failing to repent to God.
Ways to Repent from Sins
A Muslim must strive to forsake sins and avoid them, which can be achieved through several actions, including:
- Attending scholarly gatherings and learning sessions.
- Reflecting on the Qur’an, implementing its teachings, reciting it, and memorizing its verses.
- Steering clear of bad companions.
- Avoiding the causes and triggers of sinful behavior.
- Recognizing the gravity of sins.
- Consistently seeking repentance.
