Quranic Verses Encouraging Truthfulness
- (Among the believers are men who have been true to their covenant with Allah. Some of them have fulfilled their vow (to die as martyrs) and some are still waiting, but they have not altered (any change in their determination). *So that Allah may reward the truthful for their truth, and punish the hypocrites if He wills, or turn in mercy to them. Indeed, Allah is Most Forgiving and Most Merciful.)
- (And he who brought the truth and (those who) believed in it, those are the righteous. *For them are whatever they desire with their Lord. That is the reward of the doers of good.)
- (O you who have believed, fear Allah and be with the truthful.)
- (Allah said: This is the Day when the truthfulness of the truthful will benefit them; they will have gardens beneath which rivers flow, abiding therein forever. Allah is pleased with them and they are pleased with Him. That is the great success.)
- (Indeed, the believers are those who have believed in Allah and His Messenger, and then they did not doubt and strived with their properties and their lives in the cause of Allah. It is they who are the truthful.)
- (Indeed, the Muslims, men and women, believers, men and women, the devout, men and women, the charitable, men and women, the fasting, men and women, the ones who guard their private parts, men and women, and those who remember Allah much, men and women, Allah has prepared for them forgiveness and a great reward.)
Quranic Verses Encouraging Humility
- (And do not extend your eyes toward that which We have given enjoyment to some of them, nor grieve over them. And lower your wing to the believers.)
- (And to Allah prostrates whatever is within the heavens and whatever is within the earth of creatures, and the angels; and they are not arrogant.)
- (And the servants of the Most Merciful are those who walk upon the earth humbly, and when the ignorant address them, (they respond) with (words of) peace.)
- (And lower to the believers your wing.)
- (That home of the Hereafter We assign to those who do not desire exaltedness upon the earth or corruption; and the good end is for the righteous.)
- (And do not turn your cheek (in contempt) toward people and do not walk through the earth exultantly. Indeed, Allah does not like everyone self-deluded and boastful.)
- (O you who have believed, whoever of you recants from his religion, Allah will bring forth a people He will love and who will love Him, (they are) humble toward the believers, mighty against the disbelievers. They strive in the cause of Allah and do not fear the blame of a critic. That is the favor of Allah; He bestows it upon whom He wills. And Allah is All-Encompassing, All-Knowing.)
- (And do not walk upon the earth exultantly. Indeed, you will never tear the earth apart, nor will you be as tall as the mountains. *All of that—its evildoing is ever, in the sight of your Lord, detested.)
- (Your God is One God. But those who do not believe in the Hereafter, their hearts are disapproving, and they are arrogant. *Certainly, Allah knows what they conceal and what they declare; indeed, He does not like the arrogant.)
- (And he (Pharaoh) was arrogant, he and his soldiers, on the earth without right, and they thought that they would not be returned to Us. *So We took him and his soldiers and threw them into the sea; so see how was the end of the wrongdoers.)
Quranic Verses Encouraging Forgiveness
- (Take what is given freely, and enjoin what is good, and turn away from the ignorant.)
- (And We did not create the heavens and the earth and whatever is between them except in truth, and indeed, the Hour is coming. So forgive with gracious forgiveness.)
- (And those who avoid the major sins and immoralities, and when they are angered, they forgive.)
- (And the retribution for an evil act is an evil one like it. But whoever pardons and makes reconciliation, his reward is (due) from Allah. Indeed, He does not like the wrongdoers.)
- (And whoever is patient and forgives — indeed, that is of the matters (requiring) determination.)
- (The ones who spend in ease and in hardship and who restrain anger and who pardon the people. And Allah loves the doers of good.)
- (So pardon them and say, “Peace.” Soon they will know.)
- (Say to those who have believed that they should forgive those who do not expect the days of Allah, so that He may recompense a people for what they used to earn.)
- (Many among the People of the Book wish to turn you back to disbelief after your faith, out of envy from themselves after it has become clear to them what is the truth. So pardon and overlook until Allah brings about His command. Indeed, Allah is over all things Competent.)
- (If you disclose a good deed or conceal it or pardon an offense, indeed, Allah is ever Pardoning and Competent.)
- (And let not those of (you) who possess (faith and) ease swear not to give to their near relatives, the needy, and the emigrants in the cause of Allah. And let them pardon and overlook. Would you not love for Allah to forgive you? And Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.)
- (So pardon them and overlook; indeed, Allah loves the doers of good.)
Quranic Verses Encouraging Goodness
- (For those who have done good is the best reward and more. And no darkness will cover their faces, nor humiliation. It is they who are the companions of Paradise; they will abide therein eternally.)
- (And speak to people good (words) and establish prayer and give zakah.)
- (Yes, (but) whoever submits his face (in Islam) to Allah while being a doer of good will have his reward with his Lord, and there will be no fear concerning them, nor will they grieve.)
- (And do good, for indeed Allah loves the doers of good.)
- (And those who suppress anger and who pardon the people — and Allah loves the doers of good.)
- (For those who have done good among them and feared (Allah) is a great reward.)
- (Is not the reward for good (conduct) except good.)
- (Indeed, those who have believed and done righteous deeds, We do not waste the reward of the doers of good.)
- (And who is better in religion than one who submits himself to Allah while being a doer of good and follows the religion of Abraham, inclining toward truth? And Allah took Abraham as an intimate friend.)
- (And whoever submits his face to Allah while he is a doer of good has certainly grasped the most trustworthy handhold. And to Allah belongs the outcome of all matters.)
- (Indeed, the righteous will be in gardens and springs. *Taking what their Lord has given them. Indeed, they were before that doers of good.)
- (Indeed, the righteous will be in shades and springs. *And fruits from what they desire. *Eat and drink in satisfaction for what you used to do. *Indeed, thus do We recompense the doers of good.)
- (And be patient, for indeed, Allah does not waste the reward of the doers of good.)
Quranic Verses Encouraging Patience
- (So be patient, as those of determination among the messengers were patient, and do not be impatient for them.)
- (O you who have believed, seek help through patience and prayer. Indeed, Allah is with the patient.)
- (And We will surely test you with something of fear and hunger and a loss of wealth and lives and fruits, and give good tidings to the patient. *Who, when disaster strikes them, say, “Indeed, we belong to Allah, and indeed we will return to Him.”)
- (Or do you think that you will enter Paradise while Allah has not yet made evident those among you who fight in His cause and made evident those who are patient?)
- (And how many a prophet fought (in battle) with him fought many religious scholars. But they never lost hope in what afflicted them in the cause of Allah, nor did they weaken or submit. And Allah loves the patient.)
- (You will surely be tested in your wealth and your souls, and you will surely hear from those who were given the Scripture before you and from those who associate (others with Allah) much hurt. But if you are patient and fear Allah — indeed, it is of the matter (requiring) determination.)
- (O my son, establish prayer and enjoy what is right and forbid what is wrong and be patient over what befalls you. Indeed, that is of the matters (requiring) resolve.)
- (So be patient for the decision of your Lord and be not like the companion of the fish when he called out while he was distressed.)
- (O you who have believed, persevere and endure and remain stationed and fear Allah that you may be successful.)
- (And do not dispute and lose heart and weaken, and be patient. Indeed, Allah is with the patient.)
- (Indeed, the patient will be given their reward without account.)
- (And the patient during hardship and during times of ease and when the battle is at its height. Those are the ones who have been true, and it is those who are the righteous.)
- (And those who are patient, seeking the countenance of their Lord and establish prayer and spend from what We have provided them, secretly and publicly, and avert evil with good — those will have the good consequence of the home; *Gardens of Eternity, they will enter therein and (so will) the righteous among their forefathers, wives, and offspring. And the angels will enter upon them from every gate. *Peace be upon you for what you patiently endured. And excellent is the final home.)
Quranic Verses Encouraging Cooperation
- (And cooperate in righteousness and piety, but do not cooperate in sin and aggression. And fear Allah; indeed, Allah is severe in punishment.)
- (And if two parties among the believers should fight, then make settlement between the two. But if one of them oppresses the other, then fight against the one that oppresses until it returns to the ordinance of Allah. And if it returns, then make settlement between them in justice and act justly. Indeed, Allah loves those who act justly. *The believers are but brothers, so make settlement between your brothers. And fear Allah that you may receive mercy.)
- (So as for one who gives and fears Allah *and believes in the best (reward), *We will ease him toward ease. *But as for one who withholds and considers himself self-sufficient *and denies the best (reward), *We will ease him toward difficulty.)
- (He said: “That which my Lord has established for me is better, so assist me with strength. I will make between you and them a barrier.”)
- (And if two parties among the believers should fight, then make settlement between them. But if one of them oppresses the other, then fight against the one that oppresses until it returns to the ordinance of Allah. And if it returns, then make settlement between them in justice and act justly. Indeed, Allah loves those who act justly. *The believers are but brothers, so make settlement between your brothers. And fear Allah that you may receive mercy.)
Quranic Verses Praising the Character of Prophet Muhammad and the Prophets
- (And indeed, you are of great moral character.)
- (Certainly there has been for you in the Messenger of Allah an excellent example for whoever has hope in Allah and the Last Day and remembers Allah often.)
- (And by mercy from Allah you were lenient with them. And if you had been rude in speech and harsh in heart, they would have disbanded from about you. So pardon them and ask forgiveness for them and consult with them in the matter. And when you have decided, then rely upon Allah. Indeed, Allah loves those who rely (upon Him).)
- (There has certainly come to you a messenger from among yourselves. Grievous to him is what you suffer; he is deeply concerned over you and to the believers is kind and merciful.)
- (Invite to the way of your Lord with wisdom and good instruction, and argue with them in a way that is best. Indeed, your Lord knows best who has gone astray from His way and He knows best who is (rightly) guided.)
- (When you ascended (the hill) and did not turn to anyone while the Messenger was calling you from behind, then He gave you grief for grief so that you would not grieve over what has escaped you or what has befallen you. And Allah is All-Aware of what you do.)
- (So pardon them and say, “Peace.” Soon they will know.)
- (O you who have believed, do not enter the houses of the Prophet except when you are invited for a meal, without watching for its preparation. But when you are invited, then enter; and when you have eaten, disperse, and do not remain for conversation. Indeed, that would injure the Prophet, and he would be shy of you. But Allah is not shy of the truth.)
- (Indeed, Abraham was forbearing, tender-hearted and frequently turning to Allah.)
- ((Mention) the offspring of those We carried with Noah. Indeed, he was a grateful servant.)
- (And mention in the Book (the story of) Abraham. Indeed, he was a man of truth and a prophet.)
- (And We gave him Isaac and Jacob; all (three) We guided. And Noah, We guided before. And among his descendants were David and Solomon and Job and Joseph and Moses and Aaron. And thus do We reward the doers of good.)
- (And Zechariah and John and Jesus and Elias; and all were of the righteous.)
