Ahmed bin Ali Al-Ajmi
Ahmed bin Ali Al-Ajmi, full name Sheikh Ahmed bin Ali bin Muhammad Al-Sulaiman Al-Ajmi, was born on February 24, 1968, in the city of Khobar, Saudi Arabia. He is a father to six children: Omar, Maryam, Fatima, Abdullah, Abdul Rahman, and Moudhi. Sheikh Al-Ajmi received his early education under the guidance of his father and his brother, Issa Al-Ajmi. He is recognized as one of the prominent Saudi imams and Quran reciters, known for his melodious voice, ascetic lifestyle, and captivating recitations. His popularity as a reciter spans across the Arab world, and he serves as an imam at King Fahd Mosque in Jeddah. This article aims to provide a comprehensive overview of his life and achievements.
Education of Ahmed bin Ali Al-Ajmi
Sheikh Ahmed bin Ali Al-Ajmi completed his elementary education at Al-Mohammadiya School in southern Khobar. He then attended Al-Zubair Ibn Al-Awwam Intermediate School in southern Khobar for his middle school education. Subsequently, he completed his secondary education at Khobar Secondary School. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Sharia from Imam Muhammad bin Saud Islamic University in Al-Ahsa, Eastern Province, in 1412 AH. Sheikh Al-Ajmi also obtained a Master’s degree from Government College University in Lahore, Pakistan. He later achieved a PhD in Tafsir with excellence for his dissertation entitled “Al-Manna Al-Ali Al-Qadeer fi Sharh Usool Al-Tafsir.” Furthermore, he received an authorization in Sharia from Imam Muhammad bin Saud Islamic University and a doctoral degree focusing on Quranic analysis.
Ahmed bin Ali Al-Ajmi’s Role as an Imam
Sheikh Ahmed bin Ali Al-Ajmi gained recognition as a young imam, starting his journey at the age of seventeen. The first mosque where he led prayers was Ibn Abdul Aziz Mosque. He later took on the role of imam at the Grand Mosque in Khobar. His career as an imam began in 1404 AH at Al-Mughirah bin Shu’bah Mosque in Al-Thuqba. He then moved to Khobar Mosque in 1405 AH, followed by Prince Mohammed bin Fahd Mosque in the Golden Belt area in 1412 AH, and later at Al-Rayan Mosque, concluding at the Mosque of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques in Jeddah.
Quranic Recordings by Ahmed bin Ali Al-Ajmi
Sheikh Ahmed bin Ali Al-Ajmi has released numerous Quranic recordings, recited according to the narration of Hafs an Asim, which have been broadcasted on various radio stations and television channels. Additionally, he has participated in many television programs and seminars focusing on religious topics. Known as an Islamic lyrical artist, he has also released several albums featuring religious anthems, including “Anashid” and “Wada’na.”
