Very Beautiful Prayers

Beautiful Supplications

It is essential for a Muslim to engage in prayer, as it is one of the greatest acts of worship and a means of drawing closer to God Almighty. Here are some beautiful supplications:

  • O Lord, expand for me my chest, make my task easy for me, and untie the knot from my tongue so that they may understand my speech.
  • O Allah, You are my Lord; there is no deity except You. You created me as a Muslim and brought me forth from the darkness of the womb. I possess no ability to benefit or harm myself, nor to live, to die, or to resurrect. Expand for me in what You have provided, and bless me in what You have given. Indeed, You are capable of all things.
  • O Lord, bring me to a place of truth and lead me out with truth, and provide me with a supportive authority from Yourself.
  • O Allah, I ask You for unyielding faith, everlasting bliss, and companionship with Muhammad (peace be upon him) in the highest paradise.
  • O Allah, grant me a pure life, a sound death, and a return that is neither shameful nor revealing.
  • You are our Protector; therefore, forgive us and have mercy on us, for You are the best of forgivers.
  • O Allah, I ask You for bliss on the Day of Need, security on the Day of Fear, and I seek refuge in You from the evil of what You have given us and the evil of what You have withheld from us.
  • You are my protector in this world and the Hereafter. Cause me to die as a Muslim and unite me with the righteous.
  • O Allah, make faith beloved to us and adorn it in our hearts. Make disbelief, vice, and disobedience hateful to us, and make us among the guided.
  • O Allah, I ask You, as You are the One, the Unique, the Eternal Refuge, who neither begets nor is born, and there is no equivalent to You, to forgive me my sins. You are the Most Forgiving, the Most Merciful.
  • My Lord, do not leave a single disbeliever on the earth. If You leave them, they will mislead Your servants and give birth only to disbelievers.
  • O Allah, I ask You to elevate my mention, lighten my burden, mend my affairs, forgive my sins, and grant me high ranks in Paradise. Ameen.
  • My Lord, forgive me and my parents, and those who enter my home as believers, and all the believing men and women. Do not increase the wrongdoers except in destruction.
  • O Allah, You Who have sufficed me in all things, suffice me in whatever troubles me regarding the concerns of this world and the Hereafter. Firm my heart on what pleases You and bring me closer to those who are Your allies. Make my love and hatred for Your sake alone, and do not bring me near to those who oppose You. May Your blessings and goodness remain with me, and do not let me forget Your remembrance. Inspire me to thank You in all circumstances, and make me realize the value of blessings through their continuity and the value of health through its persistence.
  • O Allah, do not let my enemies delight in my illness; may the Great Quran be my remedy and healing, for I am sick and You are the Healer. You are my confidence and hope, so let my good opinion of You be my cure.
  • O Allah, we ask You by Your mighty name, which, when invoked, You answer, and when asked, You give, along with all Your beautiful names—what we know of and what we do not know—to respond to our supplications, to fulfill our desires, to meet our needs, to relieve our distress, to forgive our sins, to cover our faults, to grant us repentance, to restore our health, and to pardon us. Set our families and descendants aright, watch over us with Your protective gaze, and grant us a good outcome in all our affairs. Shower us with Your vast mercy—a mercy that would suffice us beyond anyone else.

Prophetic Supplications in the Quran

The Holy Quran mentions a series of supplications made by the prophets, peace be upon them. Here are some of these supplications:

  • Jonah (Yunus) said, “And (mention) when Jonah went away angry and he thought that We would not constrain him. And he called out within the darkness, ‘There is no deity except You; exalted are You. Indeed, I have been of the wrongdoers.'” (Quran 21:87).
  • Job (Ayyub) said, “And (mention) Job, when he called to his Lord, ‘Indeed, adversity has touched me, and You are the most merciful of the merciful.’ So We responded to him and removed what was harming him and gave him his family and the like thereof with them as mercy from Us and a lesson for people of reason.” (Quran 21:83-84).
  • Zachariah (Zakariya) said, “Remember the mercy of your Lord to His servant Zachariah, when he called to his Lord a private supplication. He said, ‘My Lord, indeed my bones have weakened, and my head has flared with gray, and I have never been in my supplication to You, my Lord, unhappy.'” (Quran 19:2-4).
  • Jacob (Yaqub) said, “And he turned away from them and said, ‘O my sorrow over Joseph!’ And his eyes became white from grief, for he was suppressing it. They said, ‘By Allah, you will never cease remembering Joseph until you become fatally ill or be among the dead.'” (Quran 12:84-86).
  • Noah (Nuh) called out: “And (mention) Noah when he called to his Lord, ‘My Lord, indeed my son is of my family, and indeed, Your promise is true. And You are the most just of judges.'” (Quran 11:45). So We responded to him and saved him and his family from the great distress, and We drowned the others.” (Quran 11:46-48).
  • Solomon (Sulaiman) said, “He said, ‘My Lord, forgive me and grant me a kingdom such as will not belong to anyone after me. Indeed, You are the Bestower.'” (Quran 38:35).
  • Joseph (Yusuf) said, “He said, ‘My Lord, prison is more beloved to me than that to which they invite me. And if You do not avert from me their plan, I might incline toward them and be of the ignorant.'” (Quran 12:33).
  • Jesus (Isa) son of Mary said, “O Allah, our Lord, send down to us a table spread from the heavens to be for us a festival for the first of us and the last of us and a sign from You. And provide for us, and You are the best of providers.'” (Quran 5:114).
  • Abraham (Ibrahim) said, “My Lord, make me an establisher of prayer, and many from my descendants. Our Lord, and accept my supplication. Our Lord, forgive me and my parents and the believers the Day the account is established.” (Quran 14:40-41).
  • Moses (Musa) said, “He said, ‘My Lord, expand for me my breast and make my task easy for me. And untie the knot from my tongue that they may understand my speech. And appoint for me a minister from my family, Aaron, my brother. Strengthen my position with him and let him share my task.'” (Quran 20:25-32).

Times and Places of Accepted Supplications

There are specific times and places where Allah accepts a Muslim’s supplications. Here are some notable ones:

  • The prayer of a traveler; the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “Three supplications are not rejected: the supplication of the oppressed, the supplication of the traveler, and the supplication of the father for his child.”
  • The supplication of a righteous child; as the Messenger (peace be upon him) said: “When a person dies, his deeds come to an end except for three: ongoing charity, beneficial knowledge, or a righteous child who prays for him.”
  • The supplication of the oppressed; as the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “The supplication of the oppressed is answered, even if he is a transgressor, for his transgression is against himself.”
  • The supplication of the needy; as Allah says: “Is He not best who responds to the desperate one when he calls upon Him and removes evil?” (Quran 27:62).
  • The supplication of anyone who invokes the supplication of Dhul-Nun, as the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “The supplication of Dhul-Nun when he called out in the belly of the fish: ‘There is no deity except You; exalted are You. Indeed, I have been of the wrongdoers.’ No believer calls it out in anything except that Allah will respond to him.”
  • The supplication of a Muslim for his brother in his absence; as the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “The supplication of a Muslim for his brother in his absence is accepted, and there is an angel at his head who says: ‘Amen, and for you the same.'”
