Supplications for Friday Morning
While there is no specific virtue established for the supplication at dawn on Friday, the time of Tahajjud, which precedes Fajr, is considered a moment of answered prayers. Below are some traditional and non-traditional supplications that can be recited during the early hours of Friday:
- (O Allah, rectify my religion which is my safeguard in all matters, and improve my world wherein I earn my livelihood, and amend my Hereafter which is my final destination, and make my life an increase in every goodness, and make my death a relief from every evil.)
- (O Allah, I seek refuge in You from incapacity, laziness, cowardice, miserliness, the frailty of old age, and the torment of the grave.)
- “O Allah, grant me from this world that which protects me from its trials and suffices me from its people and serves as a means to what is better than it, for there is no power and no strength except by Allah, the Most High, the Great.”
- “O Allah, I ask You for the opening of all good, its concluding, its comprehensive nature, its beginning, appearance, and hidden aspects, and I ask You for the highest ranks in Paradise.”
Supplications for Friday
As narrated in Sahih Al-Bukhari by Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him), the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) mentioned Friday, saying: “On this day, there is a moment when no Muslim servant stands in prayer and asks Allah for something except that He grants it to him,” indicating this moment with his hand to signify its rarity. Below are some supplications that can be frequently recited on Fridays:
- (O Allah, grant my soul its piety and purify it; You are the Best to purify it; You are its Guardian and Protector. O Allah, I seek refuge in You from knowledge that does not benefit, from a heart that does not humble itself, from a soul that is never satisfied, and from a supplication that is not answered.)
- (O Allah, I ask You for guidance, piety, chastity, and richness.)
- “O Allah, I ask You for an increase in knowledge and faith, blessings in my life and sustenance, repentance before death, ease at the time of death, forgiveness and mercy after death, the ability to pass over the bridge, protection from reckoning, and a generous share of Paradise, mercy, forgiveness, intercession, and acceptance in both this life and the Hereafter.”
Supplications for Friday Evening
Other narrations highlight that there is also a time for answered prayers on Friday, specifically after Asr, making it highly recommended to engage in supplication between Asr and Maghrib. Below are some supplications that can be expressed after the Asr prayers on Friday:
- (O Lord, forgive my sins and ignorance, and my excessive wrongdoings in all matters, and whatever You know better about me. O Allah, forgive my transgressions, my deliberate actions, my ignorance, my jesting, and all that is with me. O Allah, forgive what I have advanced and what I have delayed, and what I have concealed and what I have revealed; You are the First and You are the Last, and You are capable of all things.)
- “O Allah, I ask You for Your love, and the love of those who love You, and the love of every action that brings me closer to Your love. O Allah, make Your love dearer to me than myself, my family, my wealth, and my children, and even more cherished than cold water when thirsty.”
- “O Allah, I ask You for the best of requests, the best of supplications, the best of successes, the best of actions, the best of rewards, the best of life, and the best of death. Strengthen me, weigh my deeds in balance, affirm my faith, raise my ranks, accept my prayers, and forgive my sins.”
- “O Allah, conclude our deeds with righteousness, grant us happiness in our longevity, and fulfill our hopes through that which pleases You.”
