Prayers for Relief from Hardship

Supplications for Relief from Distress

Prophetic Supplications

Within the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), there are numerous supplications recommended for times of distress. These prayers can also be invoked at any moment. Below are some of the notable prayers:

  • (O Allah, I am Your servant, the son of Your servant, the son of Your maidservant. My forelock is in Your hand; Your decree concerning me is a reality, and Your judgment upon me is just. I ask You by every name that is Yours, which You have named Yourself, or taught to one of Your creations, or revealed in Your Book, or keep in Your knowledge of the unseen, that You make the Quran the spring of my heart, the light of my breast, the departure of my sorrow, and the vanisher of my anxiety). The Prophet (peace be upon him) indicated that whoever recites this prayer, Allah will relieve their anxiety and replace their sorrow with joy.
  • (The supplications of one in distress: O Allah, I hope for Your mercy; do not leave me to myself even for the blink of an eye and rectify all of my affairs. There is no deity except You).
  • (There is no deity but Allah, the Lord of the Majestic Throne. There is no deity except Allah, the Most Great, the Most Forbearing. There is no deity except Allah, the Lord of the heavens and the earth, the Lord of the Majestic Throne. There is no deity except Allah, the Lord of the Majestic Throne).
