Individuals are free to invoke any prayer at any time; however, there is no specific prayer for Fridays other than the emphasis on sending blessings upon the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). He stated: “The best of your days is Friday. On it Adam was created, on it he was taken, and on it the trumpet will be blown. Therefore, increase your prayers upon me, for your prayers are presented to me. Indeed, Allah has prohibited the earth from consuming the bodies of the Prophets.” Below are a selection of prayers that one may recite:

• O Allah, do not hold us accountable for the actions of the foolish among us; treat us not according to our worth, but according to Your immense worth.
• Praise be to Allah, from whom only grace is hoped and no provision comes other than from Him. Allah is the Greatest; nothing is comparable to Him either on earth or in the heavens, and He is All-Hearing, All-Seeing.
• O Allah, do not turn away from us on the day we meet You. Do not cast us out from Your door; for if You cast us away, who else will embrace us, O Lord of the Worlds, O Most Merciful of the merciful?
• There is no deity but Allah, affirming the Lordship of His house; glory be to Him, bowing in submission to His greatness. There is no power or strength except with Allah, the Most High, the Exalted.
• O Allah, I praise You as much as the heavens and earth can hold, and as much as lies between them, and as much as You wish beyond that.
• O Allah, I ask You, O Remover of distress, O Solver of problems, O Answerer of the supplications of the distressed, O Merciful in this world, O Most Merciful in the Hereafter, have mercy on me with Your mercy.
• O Allah, grant us the joy of looking upon Your noble face and the yearning for meeting You, not leading us astray nor causing us to go astray, and provide us with your shade on the day when there is no shade except Your shade.
• O Allah, to You belongs all praise; there is no deity but You, the All-Compassionate, the Bestower, the Creator of the heavens and the earth, the Possessor of glory and honor, through Your mercy, O Most Merciful of the merciful.
• O Allah, there is no guide for those You have led astray, nor is there a giver of what You have withheld, nor a withholder of what You have given, nor a supporter of what You have delayed, nor a backward of what You have hastened.
• O Allah, You are the Rich and we are the poor; grant us rain and do not make us despondent. O Allah, bless us with the rain of faith in our hearts and do not withhold Your mercy from us, O Lord of the Worlds.
• The most beautiful supplication: “O Allah, to You I submit, in You I believe, on You I rely, with You I argue, and to You I present my case. Forgive me what I have put forward and what I have delayed, what I have hidden and what I have declared. You are the Foremost and the Last, the Manifest and the Hidden. In You I place my trust, and You are the Lord of the Great Throne.”

O Allah, in my prayers and supplications, I ask for blessings to purify my heart, to unveil my troubles, to forgive my sins, to rectify my affairs, to ease my poverty, to remove my affliction, to heal my ailments, to fulfill my debts, to relieve my sadness, to unite my affairs, and to brighten my face, O Most Merciful of the merciful.

• O Lord, on this Friday, You promised Your servants acceptance of their supplications. I will pray for a heart close to my heart; grant it what it desires, bless it with what it yearns for, and make it Yours as You wish. O Allah, decree this for it before the sun of Friday sets.
• O Allah, do not deny me the vastness of Your mercy, the abundance of Your blessings, the comprehensiveness of Your health, and the generous giving; do not withhold Your gifts from me because of my shortcomings, do not hold me accountable for my wrongful actions, and do not turn Your noble face away from me, in Your mercy, O Most Merciful of the merciful.
• O Allah, I thank You with a multitude of good and blessed praise; I thank You as befits the majesty of Your face and the greatness of Your sovereignty; I thank You in numbers equal to Your creations, proportionate to Your consent, weighty as Your Throne, and as extensive as Your words; I thank You until You are pleased, and I thank You for Your pleasure.

Make us among the accepted in this world and the early seekers of Your highest ranks, forgive my sins and shortcomings along with all Muslims. O Allah, forgive me, grant me health, pardon me, guide me on Your straight path, and have mercy on me, O Most Merciful of the merciful.
• I ask Allah for a paradise, as vast as the heavens and the earth, and that He makes my loved ones eternal therein. I pray that Allah grants them provision that pleases their eyes, gives them glad tidings of good that never crossed their minds, heals their sick, and guides us all to obedience and goodwill, if Allah wills.
• A Friday has passed, and another Friday has arrived; O Allah, forgive us what is between them, and facilitate for us what pleases You.
• Glory be to Allah, all praise is for Allah, there is no deity except Allah, Allah is the Greatest, and to Allah belongs all praise. I seek forgiveness from Allah in numbers equal to His creations, by His consent, by the weight of His Throne, and by the ink of His words. O Allah, forgive all Muslims, the living and the deceased, and admit them into Your gardens, and protect them from Your punishment. To You be all praise, and may blessings be upon the most honorable of creation, the Prophet Muhammad, and upon his family and companions.
• O Allah, bless us with Your love and the love of those who love You. Do not withhold Your grace and mercy from us due to our sins, O Most Merciful of the merciful, O Most Generous of the generous. O Allah, do not allow our sins to bring upon us those who do not fear You or show mercy to us.
• O Allah, You are the Generous; do not withhold, You are the Mighty; do not humiliate, You are the Strong; do not allow us to be forsaken, You are the Preserver; do not allow us to be harmed, and You are capable of all things.
• O Allah, make us among those who inherit paradise and receive joyful tidings of peace and comfort, and may we not incur Your wrath.
• From His gratitude for blessings, He endowed them with His favor. Whoever puts their trust in Allah, He is sufficient for them. • O Allah, You are the One whose command is between “Be” and “It is,” and You are more merciful than a tender mother; grant happiness to those I love in both worlds, and when others are neglectful, let them return to You. Forgive the mother who gave me life and the father who raised me well, and place the highest abode of Paradise as their final dwelling.
• O Allah, You are the One who sent down rain from the sky and brought forth plants from the earth; open the doors of provision and success for my loved ones, let the light of Your noble face illuminate their path, bless this Friday for them and their days ahead.

Glory be to You; indeed, I have been among the wrongdoers. There is no deity but Allah, alone and without partner; His is the kingdom, and His is the praise. He gives life and causes death, and He is alive and does not die; in His hand lies all good, and to Him is the return. He is All-Powerful over all things.

• The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: “This is a day of celebration that Allah has instituted for the Muslims. Whoever comes to Friday must perform ablution; if he has perfume, he should apply some, and you should use a miswak.”
• The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: “The five prayers and Friday to Friday are expiation for what is between them as long as the major sins are avoided.”
• The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: “Seek the hour that is hoped for on Friday after the afternoon prayer until sunset.”
• The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: “Whoever performs ablution on Friday and makes an effort to arrive early, walks instead of riding, draws close to the imam, listens attentively without engaging in idle talk, will earn the reward of a year of fasting and prayer for every step taken.”
• The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: “No Muslim dies on Friday or during the night of Friday except that Allah protects him from the trial of the grave.”
• The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: “The best day upon which the sun has risen is Friday; on it, Adam was created, on it, he was brought down, on it, he died, on it, he was forgiven, and on it, the Hour will be established. There is no creature except that it listens on Friday from dawn until the sun rises, out of fear of the Hour, except for jinn and humans. And there is an hour on Friday that no Muslim slave asks Allah for anything while praying except that He grants it to him.”
