Supplications for the Fasting Person on Monday

Du’as for Fasting on Monday

Du’a for Iftar

When the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) broke his fast, he used to say: “The thirst has gone, the veins are moistened, and the reward is certain, if Allah wills.” He also used to pray: “O Allah, I have fasted for You and I break my fast with Your sustenance; accept it from me, for You are the All-Hearing, All-Knowing.” Although this narration is considered weak, it emphasizes the importance of expressing gratitude for blessings and taking advantage of the times for supplication.

Comprehensive Du’as from Hadith

A fasting individual is encouraged to pray as he wishes upon breaking the fast. Numerous supplications have been taught to us by the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) that we can use to call upon Allah, including:

  • “O Allah, I seek refuge in You from incapacity, laziness, cowardice, old age, and stinginess. I seek refuge in You from the torment of the grave, and from the trials of life and death.”
  • “O Allah, I submit to You, I believe in You, I place my trust in You, I turn to You, and I argue by You. O Allah, I seek refuge in Your might, there is no deity but You, from being led astray. You are the Ever-Living, who will not die, while mankind and jinn perish.”
  • “O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the trial of the Fire, the punishment of the Fire, the trial of the grave, and its punishment; from the evil of the trial of wealth, and from the evil of the trial of poverty. I seek refuge in You from the evils of the trial of the Anti-Christ. O Allah, wash away my sins with snow and hail, and purify my heart from sin as a white garment is purified from dirt. Distance me from my sins as You have distanced the East from the West. O Allah, I seek refuge in You from laziness, old age, sin, and debt.”
  • “O Allah, I seek refuge in Your pleasure from Your wrath, and in Your forgiveness from Your punishment. I seek refuge in You from You; I cannot enumerate Your praises, You are as You have praised Yourself.”
  • “O Allah, I seek refuge in You from knowledge that does not benefit, from a heart that does not humble, from a supplication that is not heard, and from a soul that is never satisfied.”
  • “O Allah, I hope for Your mercy; do not leave me to myself even for the blink of an eye, and rectify all of my affairs; there is no deity except You.”
  • “O Allah, grant us goodness in this world and goodness in the Hereafter, and protect us from the torment of the Fire.”
  • “O Allah, I ask You for all that is good, both immediate and deferred, that which I know and that which I do not know. I seek refuge in You from all evil, both immediate and deferred, that which I know and that which I do not know. O Allah, I ask You for the good that Your servant and prophet asked You for, and I seek refuge in You from the evil from which Your servant and prophet sought refuge. O Allah, I ask You for Paradise and for that which brings me closer to it in word or deed, and I seek refuge in You from the Fire and what brings me closer to it in word or deed. I ask You to make every decree You have made for me a source of good.”
  • “O Allah, with Your knowledge of the unseen, and Your power over creation, grant me life if You know that life is good for me, and take my soul if You know that death is good for me. I ask You for reverence of You in the unseen and in the witnessed. I ask You for a word of truth in pleasure and anger. I ask You for moderation in times of poverty and wealth. I ask You for everlasting blessings and the joy of seeing Your face, and the yearning to meet You without harm or misleading trials. O Allah, adorn us with the adornment of faith, and make us guides who are guided.”
  • “O Allah, I am Your servant, the son of Your servant, the son of Your maidservant; my forelock is in Your hand. Your decree over me is established, and Your judgment upon me is just. I ask You by every name that belongs to You, that You have named Yourself with, or revealed in Your Book, or taught to any of Your creation, or kept hidden in the knowledge of the unseen with You, to make the Qur’an the spring of my heart, the light of my chest, the dispeller of my sorrow, and the vanquisher of my anguish.”
  • “O Allah, I ask You that all praise belongs to You, there is no deity but You, alone with no partner, the Bestower of blessings, O Creator of the heavens and the earth, O Lord of glory and honor, O Ever-Living, O Sustainer. I ask for Paradise and seek refuge in You from the Fire.”
  • “O Allah, I ask You, the One, the Only, the Eternal Refuge, who neither begets nor is born, and to whom there is no equivalent, to forgive my sins. You are indeed the Most Forgiving, the Most Merciful.”
