Prayers of the Month of Rajab

General Supplications in the Month of Rajab

Supplication (dua) is one of the most commendable acts of worship through which a Muslim can draw closer to Allah – the Exalted. Although there is no specific supplication that is required for the month of Rajab, a believer is encouraged to make personal requests to Allah at any time. Below are some supplications commonly recited during Rajab and other months:

  • “There is no deity except You; exalted are You. Indeed, I have been of the wrongdoers.”
  • “Our Lord, do not impose blame upon us if we have forgotten or made a mistake. Our Lord, and lay not upon us a burden like that which You laid upon those before us. Our Lord, and burden us not with that which we have no ability to bear. And pardon us; and forgive us; and have mercy upon us. You are our protector, so give us victory over the disbelieving people.”
  • “O Allah, You are my Lord; there is no deity except You. You created me, and I am Your servant, and I am on Your covenant and promise as much as I can. I acknowledge Your blessings upon me, and I acknowledge my sins; so forgive me, for none forgives sins except You. I seek refuge in You from the evil of what I have done.”
  • “O Allah, protect me from all evil, and do not take me unaware, nor in negligence; and do not make the outcome of my affairs a regret and remorse.”
  • “O Allah, be pleased with me, for Your forgiveness encompasses the wrongdoers, and I am one of the wrongdoers; have mercy on me, O Most Merciful of the merciful.”
  • “O Allah, forgive me what does not harm You, and grant me what does not benefit You. Indeed, Your mercy is vast and Your wisdom is exquisite, so grant me abundance, tranquility, security, health, gratitude, and well-being.”
  • “O Allah, pour patience and truthfulness upon me and upon Your allies. Grant me ease, and do not accompany it with hardship. Extend this to my family, my children, my brothers in faith, and to all Muslims, men and women, who have a share in this supplication.”

Supplications for Welcoming the Month of Rajab

As the month of Rajab arrives, Muslims increase their acts of worship, including making supplications. Here are some supplications for welcoming this blessed month:

  • “There is no deity except Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. There is no deity except Allah, the Lord of the Mighty Throne. There is no deity except Allah, the Lord of the heavens and the earth, and the Lord of the Glorious Throne.”
  • “O Allah, we ask You for all mercy and forgiveness. Rectify our offspring and unify our hearts. Cover our nakedness, relieve our worries, heal our sick, have mercy on our deceased, honor our religion, expand our provisions, and extend our lifespans in good health and obedience to You, and righteous deeds.”
  • “O Allah, make the graves of our deceased a garden from the gardens of Paradise. O Allah, heal any of my kin and loved ones who are ill, relieve the worries of those who are distressed, bring joy to the sad, and grant success to those who hope for Your guidance.”
  • “O Allah, increase us and do not diminish us, honor us and do not humiliate us, give us and do not withhold from us, and favor us and do not prioritize others over us; be pleased with us and be content with us.”
  • “O Allah, forgive our shortcomings, pardon our slips, absolve us of our sins, and make us among the righteous at the time of our death, O Mighty One, Oft-Forgiving.”
  • “O Allah, greet us with safety, faith, peace, and Islam. My Lord and Your Lord is Allah – the Exalted. O Allah, bless us in Rajab and Sha’ban, and allow us to reach Ramadan. Help us in fasting and standing in prayer, guarding our tongues, and lowering our gazes. Do not let our share of Ramadan be mere hunger and thirst.”
  • “O Allah, increase us in the month of Rajab with light in our hearts, radiance on our faces, abundance in our provision, love in the hearts of people, and forgive us and our parents, as well as those who have a right over us, O Lord of the worlds.”
  • “O Ever-Living, O Sustainer, in Your mercy I seek refuge; O Loving One, O Loving One, O Glorious One of the Throne, O Doer of what You will, O Allah, I ask You by Your might that cannot be overcome, Your dominion that cannot be denied, and Your light which fills the expanse of Your throne, to fulfill my needs.”
  • “O Allah, we seek Your assistance, guidance, and forgiveness. We believe in You and put our trust in You. We praise You for all good, we are grateful to You, and we disassociate ourselves from those who disobey You.”
  • “O Allah, I seek refuge in Your pleasure from Your anger, and in Your pardon from Your punishment. I seek refuge in You from You, for I cannot enumerate Your praises. You are as You have praised Yourself.”

Supplications for Forgiveness of Sins in the Month of Rajab

Muslims also recite certain supplications for seeking forgiveness for their sins in Rajab and throughout the year. Here are some of them:

  • “O my Lord, You accept repentance from Your servants, forgive sins, and love those who repent. Accept my repentance as You promised, and forgive my sins as You guaranteed. Grant me Your love as You stipulated; my condition, O Lord, is that I do not return to what displeases You, and my pledge is that I don’t return to what is detestable, and I promise to abandon all Your disobedience.”
  • “O Allah, I seek Your forgiveness for every sin I have approached with my feet, or reached out to with my hands, or contemplated with my eyes, or listened to with my ears, or spoken with my tongue. Then, I relied on Your provision to sin against You while You concealed my faults; I asked You for more and You have not withheld from me, and You continue to return to me with Your forbearance and generosity, O Most Generous of the Generous.”
  • “O Allah, You are the King; there is no deity except You. I have wronged my soul and acknowledged my sins. Forgive me all my sins, for none can forgive sins except You. Guide me to the best of morals, for none can guide to the best of it except You. Turn away from me the bad ones, for none can turn them away from me except You. Here I am at Your service; all goodness is in Your hands, and evil is not associated with You. Blessed are You and exalted! I seek Your forgiveness and turn to You in repentance.”
  • “O Allah, I turn to You, at this moment, from my major and minor sins, the hidden and the apparent, the past and recent mistakes, repenting as one who does not imagine committing any sin nor intends to return to wrongdoing.”
