Accepted Supplications During Umrah

Accepted Prayers During Umrah

Prayer serves as a profound connection between a servant and their Creator. It is essential for believers to turn to Allah – the Exalted – in all matters of life, approaching Him with certainty in His response and maintaining good expectations of Him. Allah states: (And your Lord said, “Call upon Me; I will respond to you.”).

Additionally, in Surah Al-Baqarah, it is mentioned: (And when My servants ask you concerning Me, indeed I am near. I respond to the invocation of the supplicant when he calls upon Me. So let them respond to Me and believe in Me that they may be guided). Here, we present a selection of prayers that can be recited during Umrah.

Prayers from the Holy Quran

In the Quran, Allah has provided several verses that believers can invoke at any time. Among these are:

  • (Our Lord, grant us in this world [that which is] good and in the Hereafter [that which is] good and protect us from the punishment of the Fire.)
  • (Our Lord, and burden us not with that which we have no ability to bear. And pardon us; and forgive us; and have mercy upon us. You are our protector, so give us victory over the disbelieving people.)
  • (My Lord, forgive me and my parents and the believers the Day the account is established.)
  • (My Lord, indeed I have wronged myself, so forgive me. And He forgave him; indeed, He is the Forgiving, the Merciful.)

Prayers from the Prophetic Tradition

Numerous prayers are recorded in the Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) that Muslims can recite while performing Umrah, including some of the accepted supplications, with Allah’s permission, as listed below:

  • (Our Lord, grant us in this world [that which is] good and in the Hereafter [that which is] good, and protect us from the punishment of the Fire.)
  • (O Allah, rectify my religion which is my safeguard, and rectify my worldly affairs in which is my livelihood, and rectify my Hereafter to which is my return, and grant me life as an increase in every good, and make death a relief for me from every evil.)
  • (O Allah, forgive my mistakes and ignorance and my excesses in my matters. And what You know better about me. O Allah, forgive my foolishness and seriousness, and my mistakes and deliberate actions, and all of it is with me.)
  • (I have directed my face toward He who created the heavens and the earth, inclining toward truth, and I am not of the polytheists. Indeed, my prayer, my rites of sacrifice, my living, and my dying are for Allah, the Lord of the worlds. No partner has He. And this I have been commanded, and I am of the Muslims. O Allah, You are the Sovereign; there is no deity except You. You are my Lord, and I am Your servant. I have wronged myself and I acknowledge my sin; so forgive all my sins, for none can forgive sins except You. And guide me to the best of morals, for none can guide to the best of them except You. And turn away from me its evil, for none can turn it away from me except You. Here I am, at Your service, and all good is in Your hands, and evil does not approach You. I am in need of You, and to You I turn. Blessed and Exalted are You. I seek Your forgiveness and turn to You in repentance.)
  • (O Allah, forgive me what I have done in the past and what I will do, and what I have hidden and what I have revealed, and whatever I have overspent, and what You know better than me. You are the Al-Muqaddim, and You are the Al-Mu’akhhir; there is no deity except You.)
  • (O Allah, the Owner of the Kingdom, You give the kingdom to whom You will, and You take the kingdom away from whom You will. You honor whom You will, and humiliate whom You will; in Your hand is all good, and You are over all things competent. You are the Most Merciful in this world and the Hereafter, bestowing mercy upon whom You will, and withholding it from whom You will. Grant me a mercy that will suffice me against the mercy of others besides You.)
  • (O Allah, I seek refuge in Your pleasure from Your wrath, and in Your pardon from Your punishment. I seek refuge in You from You; I cannot enumerate Your praises. You are as You have praised Yourself.)
  • (O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the removal of Your blessings, and the change of Your good health, and the swift punishment, and all of Your displeasure.)
  • (O Allah, I ask You for all good, both immediate and delayed, what I know of and what I do not know. I seek refuge in You from all evil, both immediate and delayed, what I know of and what I do not know. O Allah, I ask You for the best of what Your servant and Prophet has asked You for, and I seek refuge in You from the worst of what Your servant and Prophet sought refuge from. O Allah, I ask You for Paradise and for words and deeds that bring me closer to it, and I seek refuge in You from the Fire and from words and deeds that bring me closer to it. I ask You to make every decree You decree for me good.)
  • (O Allah, I ask You for pardon and safety in this world and the Hereafter. O Allah, I ask You for pardon and safety in my religion and my worldly affairs, and for my family and my possessions. O Allah, protect my defects and grant me security in my fears. O Allah, safeguard me from before me, from behind me, from my right, from my left, and from above me, and I seek refuge in Your greatness from being attacked from below.)
