Comprehensive Prayers for Personal Protection

Morning and Evening Protection Prayers

The believer engages in various protective prayers and supplications, particularly reciting morning and evening dhikrs. Below are some significant examples:

  • Surah Al-Ikhlas: “Say, ‘He is Allah, [who is] One, Allah, the Eternal Refuge. He neither begets nor is born, nor is there to Him any equivalent.’”
  • “Allah, there is no deity except Him, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of existence. Neither drowsiness nor sleep overtakes Him. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. Who is it that can intercede with Him except by His permission? He knows what is before them and what will be after them, and they encompass not a thing of His knowledge except for what He wills. His Kursi extends over the heavens and the earth, and their preservation tires Him not. And He is the Most High, the Most Great.”
  • Recite Surah Al-Falaq and Surah An-Nas three times.
  • “We have entered the evening, and so has the kingship of Allah. All praise is due to Allah; there is no deity except Allah, alone with no partner. He is the Sovereign, and to Him belongs all praise, and He is capable of all things. O Lord, I ask You for the best of this night and the best of what follows it. I seek refuge in You from the evil of this night and the evil of what follows it. O Lord, I seek refuge in You from laziness and the evil of old age. O Lord, I seek refuge in You from the torment in the Fire and the torment in the grave.” When morning comes, this is repeated: “We have entered the morning, and so has the kingship of Allah.”
  • “O Allah, You are my Lord; there is no deity except You. You created me, and I am Your servant. I am on Your covenant as much as I am able. I acknowledge Your blessings upon me, and I acknowledge my sins. Forgive me, for surely none can forgive sins except You. I seek refuge in You from the evil of what I have done.”
  • “In the name of Allah, whose name brings no harm in the heavens or on the earth, and He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing.”
  • “O Allah, I ask You for pardon and well-being in this world and the Hereafter. O Allah, I ask You for well-being in my religion, my worldly affairs, my family, and my wealth. O Allah, shield my weaknesses and grant me safety in my fears. O Allah, preserve me from in front of me, from behind me, from my right, from my left, and from above me. I seek refuge in You from being attacked from beneath me.”

Quranic Verses for Protection

The Holy Quran encompasses numerous verses that serve to fortify the self. Here are a few notable examples:

  • “Indeed, my Lord is Guardian over all things.”
  • “The Messenger has believed in what was revealed to him from his Lord, and [so have] the believers. All of them have believed in Allah and His angels and His Books and His messengers, saying, ‘We make no distinction between any of His messengers.’ And they said, ‘We hear and we obey. (Grant us) Your forgiveness, O Lord. To You is the final destination.’ Allah does not burden a soul beyond that it can bear; it will have [the consequence of] what [good] it has gained, and it will bear [the consequence of] what [evil] it has earned. Our Lord, do not impose blame upon us if we have forgotten or made a mistake. Our Lord, and lay not upon us a burden like that which You laid upon those before us. Our Lord, and burden us not with that which we have no ability to bear. And pardon us; and forgive us; and have mercy upon us. You are our protector, so give us victory over the disbelieving people.”
  • “And Allah is the Best of protectors, and He is the Most Merciful of the merciful.”
  • “Sufficient for me is Allah; there is no deity except Him. On Him I have relied, and He is the Lord of the Great Throne.”

  • “I seek refuge in Allah, the Most High, from the evil of what He has created on the earth, and from the evil of what comes forth from it, and from the evil of every evil-doer whose evil I cannot bear, and from the evil of every creature that You hold by its forelock, and from the evil of the wicked, hazards, and diseases.”

  • “O Allah, I ask You by every name that is Yours, which You named Yourself, or revealed in Your Book, or taught to one of Your creations, or kept to Yourself in the knowledge of the unseen, to protect us with Your care, mercy, and kindness.”
  • “O Mighty, O Praiseworthy, O Lord of the Majestic Throne, divert from us the evil of every tyrant who is obstinate.”
  • “O Allah, I seek assistance from You and rely upon You. O Allah, ease my difficulties and grant me comfort in challenging times, provide me with more good than I seek, and divert all evil from me. O Lord, expand my chest and ease my matters, O Generous One.”
