Prayers for Positive Change

Prayers for Improving One’s Circumstances

Allah, the Almighty, possesses the power to transform situations, and He has permitted His servants to turn to Him in prayer, promising them responsiveness. A believer may invoke Allah for their needs and concerns, as the door to supplication is always open. Here are some prayers that can be recited with the hope of improving one’s circumstances, Insha’Allah:

  • “O Allah, O Turner of circumstances, transform our situation into the best possible state.”
  • “O Allah, O Controller of hearts and eyes, strengthen our hearts in devotion to You. Do not mislead us after guiding us, nor test us in our faith. May our present be better than our past, and our tomorrow better than today. Let the best part of our lives be its latter stage, the best of our deeds its conclusion, and the best of our days the day we meet You while You are pleased with us.”
  • “O Allah, we ask You to change our condition to that which is better, to be pleased with us, have mercy on us, forgive us, and excuse us.”
  • “O Allah, make my life easy and facilitate my sustenance, and grant me the bliss of life and serene living.”
  • “O my Lord, I call upon You and implore You to change my situation to the best state, and guide me along the paths of righteousness and success.”
  • “Our Lord, O Sovereign of All, please alter our conditions to a better state, and place us where You are pleased with us. Do not let the worldly life be our greatest concern or the extent of our knowledge.”
  • “O Allah, I ask You to reform me, guide me on the straight path, change my state to one that is better, open the doors of goodness and sustenance for me, and bestow upon me mercy and well-being in this life and the Hereafter.”

Prayers for Happiness and Contentment

Attaining happiness in this life and the Hereafter, alongside living a dignified and fulfilling life while earning the pleasure of Allah (Glory be to Him), is a primary goal for believers. Here are prayers that can be recited to seek joy, a good life, and contentment:

  • “O Allah, I ask You for the best of requests, the best of supplications, the best of successes, the best of actions, the best of rewards, the best of lives, and the best of deaths. Steadfast me, balance my deeds, fulfill my faith, elevate my ranks, accept my prayers, forgive my sins, and grant me the highest levels in Paradise.”
  • “O Allah, bestow happiness upon us in this world and the Hereafter, and make our lives fulfilling and our existence honorable.”

A believer turns to Allah to seek relief from afflictions and to alleviate worries, for no one has the power to do this except Allah (Glory be to Him). Below are some general prayers that can be recited for such purposes:

  • “O Allah, do not leave us with a single sin except that You forgive it, nor a worry without alleviating it, nor a debt without settling it, nor a sick person without healing them, nor a trial without granting them relief, nor a misled person without guiding them, nor a traveler without returning them, nor an oppressed without granting them victory, nor a captive without freeing them, nor a deceased without showing mercy, nor any of our needs that entail Your satisfaction without fulfilling and facilitating them through Your grace, O Most Generous of the Generous.”
  • “O Allah, I ask You to protect me from afflictions and to relieve me from my worries, to lift the gloom that has befallen me, to have mercy on me, and to ease my affairs.”
  • “O Allah, divert calamities away from us, keep misfortunes and disasters at bay, and grant us safety and health from distress, anguish, sadness, and hardships.”
